Our institutional interior design work ensures adequate functional space for use by everyone with the least physical effort. Our detailing emphasizes providing simple perceptible information for all users that reinforces intuitive use.We also recognize that while achievement of universality is the highest design goal, there are still special needs populations that need a higher level or particularly specialized adaptive design, including mental health patients, the elderly and the very young. Balancing privacy with the need for supervision can be achieved not only in the planning, but also in the approach to screening, acoustics, etc., to produce an environment that meets these needs. Our institutional interior design team is dedicated to making an environment feel more ‘familiar’ through use of discrete security and the choice of less traditionally used institutional designs and colour motifs, helping to establish a calming and more comfortable setting for the delivery or services.
